God has blessed our surfing business abundantly over the years. Grace. It is unmerrited favor. We certainly don't deserve it, but he has always been with us and has always provided.  As we are blessed, we strive to be a blessing in our community.  Let us know if there is any way our ministry can support our neighbors in need.  We are always available to listen and more than happy to sit down and have a cup of coffee with you.

Pura Vida is a phrase used in Costa Rica on various occasions, but especially in response to the greeting ("How are you?" - "Pura vida") and is equivalent to "very well", although it should be noted that the inhabitants of that Central American country gives it a broader and deeper interpretation.

The simple meaning of Pura Vida is Pure Life or Simple Life. And this has a lot to do with the culture and attitude of the local Ticos. The towns of Costa Rica tend to be much more laid back and carefree than many other countries and towns. They just don't worry as much as others do, there is really no need to worry when you are in paradise. It is probably the most common phrase that travelers to the country often hear.

Pura Vida is both a greeting and a farewell, an answer to the question: "How are you?" And a pronounced expression, perhaps he screamed - on joyous occasions.

The "pura vida" symbolizes for Costa Ricans the simplicity of good living, the attachment to humility, abundance, exuberance, well-being, joy, peace, satisfaction, conformity, happiness and optimism, associated with the art of appreciating good looks in simplicity. and natural, the art of good living.

Gastronomy of Costa Rica

Picture
The gastronomy of Costa Rica brings together the customs and culinary practices of the inhabitants of that country, and is part of their national identity. On a socio-cultural level, it is a cuisine with an intense miscegenation, strongly conditioned by its tropical environment, and very close to the Mediterranean diet due to a basal mix between South European, Levantine and Sephardic groups.

There are also notable contributions from African, indigenous, Afro-Antillean, Eastern, Latin American and other parts of Europe. In addition, due to its geographical position in the middle of the two great territorial masses of America, throughout its history Costa Rica has been a biological and cultural bridge between the north and south of the continent.

This has produced in its small territory a unique encounter of flora and fauna, which generates an exuberant range of food products; also enriched with all the flow of the fruits of the sea due to the fact that its coasts are bathed by two oceans. In this way, the country has four culinary regions well defined by their geography and cultural development: Western and Eastern Central Valley, Guanacaste and North Zone, Puntarenas and Limón. With a common base composed primarily of foods such as: the gallo pinto, the casado, the picadillos, the pot of meat, the gallitos, the empanadas, the pasta, the fresh fruit and the coffee.
